I'm not sure about the rule but I think it is understood by folks. IIRC Geir
did the current horrible WebSite so he can comment better than I can :-)
When you check out the website the URL is
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/geronimo/site
In that directory there are instructions on how to deploy it so it becomes live.
I think Bruce was doing the work on his http://people.apache.org/~bsnyder
account for folks to look at so I expect you could do your work elsewhere so
long as its temporary.
If you have something that you'd like folks to see and lack the ability to host
it somewhere I'd be happy to put it on my account and coordinate updates with you.

I've emailed Glenn Wheaton from Epiq asking him to attach the new
stylesheets and imagery so that he can grant the ASF a license to the
content.
