Again, I don't follow. If a change is applied to trunk, why shouldn't it be done to the branch, too? Wouldn't it ensure that the branch is up-to-date? I think I miss something obvious and you explain me something assuming I've got all information you've got. I remember one said in this mailing list that it's always worth to try it out in action rather than discussing it over and over again. Although it doesn't work in all cases, it likely will in this one.
