Hi Andrus,

Indeed, so far there is no plan to implement JPA on top of TranQL. Thanks for asking if your JPA QL work could somehow benefit to TranQL. Also, if you find some interesting pieces of code in TranQL that you would like to reuse, then please feel free to let me know.

Thanks,
Gianny

I am cc'ying to Gianny (hope I got the right address), but I'd still like to keep the thread public.

Since the response from others (Matt) was essentially "JPA QL support is not planned", and we need it now, I already started working on the parser on Cayenne side using JavaCC (I know TranQL uses antlr, but for Cayenne parser it made sense to stick with JavaCC if only to avoid extra runtime lib dependencies). I have the basic grammar in place, and hopefully should check it in soon. If there are any ideas or comments, or a desire to make it reusable outside Cayenne, let me know.

I don't think there are any plans, but you should send an email to Gianny as he is the only one working on the EJBQL code.

If Cayenne is planing on using this code also, you two should talk about bringing TranQL to Apache (maybe the db project).

Not sure if there is such thing as TranQL mailing list, so I figured, I'll ask here.

Are there any plans to extend TranQL with EJB3 QL support?

Thanks
Andrus
