What additional "JEE5" features do you foresee that could not go into a
2.2.x maintenance release?

It seems to me that 3.0 (with Java EE 6) is pretty far off and 2.3
release (with Java EE 5) is far more probable by then. But we do
definitely need a place to work on EE 6 things and so we can make
trunk EE 6 focused but at the same time I think we need a place where
we can put code destined for future releases that are EE 5 certified.
For example, something like "branches/2.x" (literally) that would act
like a "trunk" for future EE 5 certified releases.

Current thinking is that we'll create branches/2.2 from trunk around Dec.
12, so we can start closing down the 2.2 release.
What is everyone's thoughts on what version we'll use for trunk when that
happens?
1) trunk becomes 3.0-SNAPSHOT and focused on JEE6
2) trunk becomes 2.3-SNAPSHOT, will include some JEE6 technology preview,
but is still focused on being another JEE5 release in 2009
