I knew about the property-placeholder and (so far) rejected it because AFAICT 
it requires reading the properties from a file rather than letting geronimo 
inject a properties object into the spring application context.  I don't know 
anything about the context schema.  Maybe we could write an injectable 
properties placeholder spring bean??
