Maja, this sounds like a bug. The aggregator values should be aggregated from
superstep S and available at S+1. During any superstep, the vertices shouldn't
see a mutating value. Your solution sounds good. In accordance with the
Pregel model, we should probably by default reset all aggregators every
superstep (i.e. a global edge count), but provide an option to make them sticky
as well.
