Hi Helmut,

There are a couple of issues with gdoc which mean that I wouldn't
recommend it for a manual:

1. It's buggy still, so formatting can be difficult to get right
without some hacks
2. It uses the Radeox engine, so it's good for generating web pages
but I wouldn't even think about creating PDFs with it

If anyone is interested in what it produces, take a look at:

  http://grails.org/doc/1.0.x/

I believe it's loosely based on Textile (whatever that is :) ) and it
works nicely for the kind of layout used in the Grails docs. If you
decide to use it, just be prepared to invest some time in ironing out
issues. Remember, it's currently in the "one use" phase of
development, i.e. I don't think it's used outside of Grails docs.
