Ah, now I see, the barely visible yellow line is the blue line in reverse mode, because the cells are selected (black). In the new chart we have neither. I would suggest to either select the range with the usual selection (inverted/black cells) or with a blue border. Maybe a blue border is nicer, however it is not visible when your cells are blue.

I think it should be easier to select the cells like before, and skip the blue border for the time being.

Interesting. As noted, I like the (obviously) smaller value for deep charts
  better.
This issue is only that for that kind of chart, the display of lines does not look as
smooth (anti-aliased) as for other charts.
