Hi, a few comments on my part I haven't yet read PDF ref 1.5 sect 8.7, so I'm not enterely sure how the signing works, I'll try to read it and commenting back.

About the implementation proposal in the thread starting message, I'd rather use the 'on the fly' method, it's surely more difficult to implement, I think that in the long run it's better. Last: presently the default if 1.4 PDF, it seems to me it is fixed in software, with this new feature, does it mean the PDF Export dialog needs a new control to select the PDF version ? It appears the PDFWriter_Impl code already is taking this into account already.
