Do you think this one is a significant amount of work? I have a PR out
there that you left some feedback on - I could try to wrap that up? I'm not
hugely glued to this - it could go into a 1.6.x bugfix release, instead.


I think a 1.6.x bugfix release would probably be best, given that build options exist to work around the issue on platforms with smaller stacks.
