Thanks for the pointer, Andrew. This worked for me and I was able to start
hbase now and can resume testing.

I didn't mean to imply that Nick needs to create human release notes, but
wanted to know if he had considered it in light of the plan to do so for
1.4.0. I think it's a nice to have, but definitely not critical.

(I'm still -1 due to the tar/tag discrepancy, however.)
