HBase 3.0.0-beta-2 is about to come, it will be the last beta release and then we will release our first 3.x GA HBase.
There is a discussion thread about dropping jdk8 support in HBase 3.x[1], we all agree to do this but there is no consensus on which jdk version should be the minimum supported version yet, although there were some suggestions on jumping to jdk17 directly.
