To implement this approach, we'd need a new constant (preferably in HttpParams) and we'd have to change the behavior of the getXxxParameter methods in AbstractHttpParams. It wouldn't affect any parameter value but the one specifically defined for that purpose, so I guess that counts as a compatible change.
