I'm also interested in seeing this merged so I offered my help to @semancik
to get things moving here. As a start I'll try getting the formatting right and
minimise white-space changes. Hope @semancik has some time to help on the
testing side of things.
What else should be done to get this mergeable? Re-reading the thread and
[@DaddyWri's
comment](https://github.com/apache/httpclient/pull/66#issuecomment-286675869)
looks like there are more changes needed to the internals - is it feasible to
do them as part of this PR or refactoring should be carried out separately?
