To answer my last question, the warnings in hive-default.xml.template explain
that it's for documentation purposes only. So it should still be maintained,
and (imho) it should match the wiki.
I suggest using this ticket to fix spelling errors in the file, then creating
another ticket to backport wiki improvements to the file. No separate ticket
needed for making equivalent spelling fixes in the wiki -- that task can
piggyback on this one.
A final step will be to make sure all params in HiveConf.java are also in
hive-default.xml(.template) and the wiki.
But I still don't understand the difference between hive-default.xml &
hive-default.xml.template.
