I would like to see this go in to 1.3. I will volunteer my time to see that this happens (the patch is there, it just needs to be merged), if I can get enough support. I realize this might be considered a feature, but I think it is something that is needed and will be very useful for those who are stuck on 1.3 for the time being. -aaron
