Is it as simple as checking in the calling routine and eliminating the checks in the called routine?
Uck. I still think somebody ought to go on a mission to eliminate these null r->filename cases. I don't have time tho. Maybe a good thing for some of us to look at at the Con.

has any decision been made on the answer to the question "what should r->filename be if a module determines in the translate_name hook that the uri does not map to any file that the web server can see?" ?
