Yep... instead having it as 2.2.0 RC1 would really make people sit
up and take notice. Plus, as I've stated before, it adds a good
procedure to our evolving release structure.

In a word, no.  We have a release structure and it is working just
fine right now.  I don't see any need to fiddle with it by adding
yet another level of version identifiers.
