Any thoughts on adopting

http://people.apache.org/~wrowe/ldap/httpd-2.2-ldap.patch

for the coming release? If built static, do we already merge up all those
LDADD flags, or is there some magic we need to add to accomplish that?

As I would not like to see 2.2.9 already *dependent* on apr / apr-util 1.3.x (only shipped with apr / apr-util 1.3.x) I propose to do this only on trunk and postpone backporting to the point of time where we make 2.2.x dependent on 1.3.x which IMHO depends on the real live quality of 1.3.x. So if it is
good, it may be 2.2.10 which becomes dependent on 1.3.x.

Note the "||" syntax of this patch, which dodges this "feature" of
apr-util-1.3 and remains compatible with apr-util-1.2.x

Does this change your opinion?

Yes, this changes my opinion. So I am +1 for this patch. Just add it
to the STATUS file and lets see if we get the missing vote.

The patch for trunk should drop that toggle and simply fix at apr 1.3.

Seen that. +1.
