what you find on your box is what your Linux distro gives you - they may
provide a GUI tool which works with these .xml files which let you
manipulate httpd settings from your desktop ...
the httpd docs describe the simplest way to configure httpd which is to
put everything into one httpd.conf.
Since your question has nothing to do with development please direct
further questions about httpd usage either to the user list, or to a
support list / forum of your Linux distro.
