Patch Set 1: (1 comment) http://gerrit.cloudera.org:8080/#/c/5053/1/buildall.sh File buildall.sh: PS1, Line 242: 88b023 > I am just having some trouble figuring out the process. For everything else While they're changing bits frequently (i.e. before this GA release) we will need to be willing to pick up some changes where they haven't produced a 'release' (which is just a git tag). We won't do this daily, just at whatever frequency is enough for us to get changes that we need. I think it's OK to have the git hashes here since we actually compile Impala against the bits, so having the hash (or tag if its a release) allows us to fully specify the bits in an Impala build. If, even after the Kudu GA, we still find that we need newer bits more frequently than their dot releases, we can look into other improvements to hide some of this ugliness. One thing we could do (if we really care) is fork Kudu and keep it up to date (at least as freq as we need to), but create our own tags. -- To view, visit http://gerrit.cloudera.org:8080/5053 To unsubscribe, visit http://gerrit.cloudera.org:8080/settings Gerrit-MessageType: comment Gerrit-Change-Id: Ib4771dec1e25a5483adfeb84349b8ff06d9ddccd Gerrit-PatchSet: 1 Gerrit-Project: Toolchain Gerrit-Branch: master Gerrit-Owner: Matthew Jacobs <m...@cloudera.com> Gerrit-Reviewer: Dimitris Tsirogiannis <dtsirogian...@cloudera.com> Gerrit-Reviewer: Matthew Jacobs <m...@cloudera.com> Gerrit-HasComments: Yes
