I didn't hear any concerns from the community regarding branching of 2.10.0 at commit 2a7c8b9. So I created "branch-2.10.0" at that commit [1] and have started testing it on my machine.
If all of my tests pass, I will publish a release candidate 1 (rc1) and create a [VOTE] thread separately.
