Heh, when I mentioned a patch I meant it'd need to be written, not that I had already done so ;)
Actually, the work involved for OpenOffice is likely to be minimal. Most of the time when you patch something for autopackage, it's to make the program: a) Relocatable (ie installable to any prefix) b) More binary portable, but presumably the existing RPMs are built in a similar manner c) Fully desktop integrated, ie, to have a .desktop file All of this work has already been done for OpenOffice. The main issue is likely to be (b) but I never looked at the OO RPMs so I don't know what would be involved in finishing it off (if anything). It could simply be a matter of re-wrapping the contents of the RPM with an autopackage specfile, in which case the work is trivial (but I can't do it right now, there's too much else on my plate). thanks -mike Original Message: ----------------- From: Rykel [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Tue, 26 Jul 2005 02:02:29 +0800 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [email protected], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Fwd: OpenOffice.org 2.0 Autopackage] Hi there Ingo, Thanks a lot for your prompt response! I have CCed Mike Hearn, lead developer for autopackage, who might be able to forward you the patch you mentioned. I look forward to trying out the latest OpenOffice.org 1.9.118 Build with autopackage. Thanks.
