Hi,
I would like to continue to provide 680 milestones as before 2.0
release. Since these snapshots are mainly for QA purpose I would like to
have these snapshots installed in parallel with the stable releases.
for that reason we can't simply release a 2.0.135 since than the
snapshot would be the 2.0 default installation. Expansion of the
productname to openoffice.org-snapshot-2.0 might resolve this but might
leave some question like desktop integration open.
The next target is going to be 2.0.1 ?
On the rpm ordering side of things perhaps making snapshots along the
way to 2.0.1 of
openoffice.org-2.0.1-0.m
m for minor would be a useful approach
e.g. openoffice.org-2.0.1-0.135
all of the snapshots before the release of 2.0.1-m will then be < than
the final 2.0.1 release rpms while the snapshots are > the current 2.0.0
series. Keeping the sequence sane.
Wouldn't this still remove 2.0.0 in favor of 2.0.1-0.135 ?
Actually I think the only way I to keep 2.0.0 on disk when installing
2.0.1-pre is to change the package names to something like
openoffice.org-core01-dev etc. . The desktop-integration packages would
still conflict - due to famous /usr/bin/soffice :(.
Maybe it is time to release 'real' tarballs for those who want to keep
2.0.0 around ..
