we are thinking about it but we don't want to make a fast shot. The
workaround is to split the extension package content in the unique parts
and install them in the usual way. That's not nice, of course, but

We have a problem under Solaris where it is not allowed to run any post
install scripts.
But i agree that we should define the possible ways more concrete. There
are some ideas in the air ;-) ...
it is a really important point and it may block soon some developments ?
Can you be more concrete please. Concrete requirements or demand for a
feature can always speed up the implementation ;-)
As i mentioned before a workaround is in place for code contributions
for the OpenOffice code base. If you talk about extensions hosted
somewhere else which should be bundled with a specific distribution of
OO.org than it is still an open question.
