io sono Alessandro e con altri volontari abbiamo cercato di mettere in
piedi una struttura che ci auguriamo sia più che efficiente per tradurre
nel migliore dei modi il programma e la documentazione.
La fase progettuale è terminata e ora inizieremo a lavorare veramente
(come se negli ultimi mesi avessimo giocato... :o)).
Credo che si comincerà a tradurre a partire da novembre, quindi per il
momento ti suggerisco di iscriverti alla mailing list Localizzazione e
aspettare il prossimo annuncio che non tarderà ad arrivare
(presumibilmente entro la fine della settimana prossima).

Having introduced myself, let's to the core of the matter.
I would start to contribute to the OpenOffice community by translating
into Italian one or, possibly, more chapters of the guide but I wouldn't
like to re-invent the wheel so I ask to anyone having started or already
decided to translate the guide:
