Hi there. In the upcoming weeks, I'd like to discuss the roadmap for Jackrabbit.
Things that come to mind are: - require Java 11 (that will allow us to update a few more dependencies), and also support changes in the Jackrabbit API (which now lives in Oak, which switched to Java 11 ca one year ago) - create a new maintenance branch (2.22) that can be used in Oak "latest stable" (which currently uses Jackrabbit 2.20.*) - remove everything RMI (after properly deprecating it, there may be modules that still need work) - update roadmap to specify an EOL for 2.20 in ca. 2025/2026 - potentially: switch to Java 17 (although I'd like to delegate that decision to Jackrabbit Oak and just align with that) Feedback appreciated, Julian
