Julian Reschke commented on JCRVLT-781:
---------------------------------------

Sounds good.

Except: there are projects using FileVault which are stuck with Java 8 (and
which will likely not switch to Java 11 - these are the ones for which we
maintain Oak 1.22.*). If they would now upgrade to FileVault 3.8.2, and we move
to Java 11, what would be the plan how to support them when needed?

Related to that: if we make the switch, the new version should be either 3.9 or
even 4.0.

> In order to get rid of the Commons IO dependencies and leverage Jackrabbit
> API/Commons 2.22.x (requiring Java 11) FileVault should require Java 11 as
> well.
