What might work is asking for replacements and spotting them in the PeekReader.
But I don't see in UTF_8.Decoder (OpenJDK specific code) any likely looking
code to handle the REPLACE case. It might be that the charbuffer by it's length
indicate position.
Close the JIRA and open an enhancement one?
