Claude +1'ed and I'm OK with this plan.
Is everyone else OK with it? (please "+1/0/-1")
If so, I'll call a VOTE for moving trunk.
1/ Move the code to git
2/ Repackage com.hp.hpl.jena -> org.apache.jena
3/ Declare jena-3.0-alpha-1 (not a release - just POM version set.).
4/ Starting making changes
(like RDF 1.1 details - invalidates persistent data).
To be clear, is the plan to branch for 3.0? Will there be parallel 2.x work?

In my mind, two branches. (names?)
Realistically, there is going to be overlap of 3.0 and 2.12.x -
jena-3.0-alpha-1 is not a replacement for the main project.
Much of RDF 1.1 is done (e.g. parsers). The final steps of making
simple literals and xsd:string the same thing is probably not a major
thing (how often are simple literals and xsd:strings mixed in on usage?
well, except picky test case!) but it is a data reload for persistent
data to be safe. It also enables a new optimization of
FILTER("foo" = ?x).
Between that and the package renaming, I can see jena2 and jena3 having
an appreciable overlap.
Comments?
