Yeah, right now it is [just a two-part

I think the most straightforward approach would be to have
{{setDefaultHttpClient}} reject {{null}}, since the notes to {{HttpClient}}
make clear that it is [best
reused|https://hc.apache.org/httpcomponents-client-ga/tutorial/html/fundamentals.html#d5e213].
