Agreed. I thought there should be another way Having a new `NodeValue` type
like `NodeValueSortKey` sounds like a good plan, as well as a new value space
type. I'm updating the pull request (99% done in my local working copy), but
will spend some time reviewing the code, and writing initial unit tests now :-)
Will update this pull request in the next hours.
