We do need to include the ApacheCon logo, but that could be put at the bottom of the LHS menu, as is done in Commons, e.g.
http://commons.apache.org/proper/commons-lang/ This would give more space on the header. Also, I think the About Twitter link should have a Twitter logo to make it stand out better.
