Yes, the printable docs and api docs are in the binary archives.

With the recent change to the nightly Ant build target that now
creates theJavadocs.
So they definitely don't need to be recreated in a later step.

It's just a question of whether it is worth uploading Javadocs to the
buildbot website (it takes a little while).
(Adding a link [1] to main body of [2] would be easy.)

Would they be useful to have online, given that they are in the binary archive?

There is only a single copy, so that gets overwritten for each build
(not that the Javadocs change very much).
[Note: the Javadocs created by the nightly target include the revision]
