Yes MongoDB sampler has been move to depreacated elements.

MongoDB elements (MongoDB Source Config, MongoDB Script) have been
deprecated and will be removed in the next version of JMeter. They do
not appear anymore in the menu, if you need them modify not_in_menu
property. JMeter team advises not to use them anymore. See Bug 58772"

The third release candidate for JMeter 3.0 (r1741338) has been prepared,

This release brings a lot of new features (over 100) and fixes many bugs
