So RC1 turned into more of a beta, since we've done almost as many
fixes after it as before it. We need to push out an RC2 so we're in
shape to have a final 1.3.0 for JavaOne.
Anything out there that really needs to get into RC2? I've managed to
narrow the open bugs down quite a bit, and as far as that goes we're
in shape to release just about any time.
So if you have an outstanding bug that you think really needs to get
in, let us know, do the extra homework to isolate/reproduce it, and
maybe we can do it.
We'll be looking at a 1.4 release some time this summer. My top two
items for it are to move toward an optimizing compiler to improve Ruby
execution performance and to make another big foray into Java
Integration to try to more closely unify Ruby and Java types/objects.

How impossible would it be to time something for Google I/O (May
27-28th). I'm wondering since I will be speaking a lot about JRuby on
GAE/J there, and 1.3 is kinda necessary for that. =)
