Hey Jan! AFAIK, we deprecated the operator that was using these images. And in the examples repos we will keep only commands for users to build their images locally. That's not necessary anymore, that's my understanding.
I just asked in case someone else has another opinion. @Tiago, I thought the same thing. I'm not sure why they were created this way in the first place, it would be safer to understand the motivations. But, as Jan said, if we got regressions we can safely fix it IMO. Cheers!
