Thanks for the response Eike. If i don't have to file another issue, is it safe to assume that the language will be listed in the global setting's language dropdown once the locale become available?

To be listed as a default language, locale data must be available. I just searched for and grabbed issue http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=60109 that was rotting away at the old default owner's account. > Is there another way to tell OOo writer which > dictionary to use, without choosing a default language > for a document? A text can still be assigned the Akan language for spell-checking purposes using the characters' font attribution. If done in the default template file it is then active for every new document. > if not do i need to file a new issue > or just re-open the existing (but closed) issue that i > filed to request support for Akan in OOo. No new issue necessary. Eike __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
