This is obviously not the way it should be, and Aijin and I will look into this. I have a few ideas that Aijin will hopefully be able to investigate soon. > So I tried to download the file to work on Kbabel, but KBabel shows > weird things with msgids ... for example: > > _: 04060103.xhp#par_id3148558.407.help.text\n > <emph>Maturity</emph> is the date on which the security matures (expires). > > The HC/scalc/01.po file I downloaded has this in it: > > #: 04060103.xhp#par_id3148558.407.help.text > msgid "" > "_: 04060103.xhp#par_id3148558.407.help.text\n" > "<emph>Maturity</emph> is the date on which the security matures (expires)." > msgstr "" > > Pootle does not get bothered with the spurious string > "_: 04060103.xhp#par_id3148558.407.help.text\n" > > but Kbabel does. > > Am I missing something on Kbabel and/or is there another fine tunning for > Pootle needed? > > Thank you > > Olivier The text marked with _: .... \n is the old KDE style of marking context to disambiguate messages that would otherwise be identical. The PO files for OpenOffice.org translation can be formed with different options for handling duplicates, KDE style comments being one of them.
