Hi all,
Mongolian team (http://mn.openoffice.org) has just finished translation
of Openoffice 3.0 GUI (100%) and semi-automatic testing (with
screenshots) of Openoffice 2.4 GUI (100%).
Issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=91228
Currently, we are still working on linguistic testing, mongolian
Spellchecker dictionary (http://mnspell.openmn.org/) and documentation.
Spellchecker dictionary will be released in Jily. We have certainly
planned mongolian thesarus and opentype font for mongolian tradional
script. The font exists already as truetype and we are converting it
into opentype (experienced people can help us) and we will license it
"Free or Open source" like Bitstream Vera and DejaVu etc.
Openoffice is not just alternative of MS Office but much better than
Microsoft office (at least for Mongolian), which doesn't have mongolian
language support until now. In contrast, Openoffice has now mongolian
traditional writing support (top-to-down, left-to-right), mongolian
spellchecker and Mongolian GUI (and Help soon).
We made more than 8 intermediate builds for windows and linux to test
our translations better but they are not enough for a Release.
You can see:

http://www.openmn.org/mn_download/OOo_2.4.0_080614_unxlngi6_install_mn.tar.gz
The will be deleted by next week and uploaded new builds.
Pavel, can you please help us to build more clean and more plattform
(including mac) builds for Openoffice 2.4 with small patches
(issue:91226 and 91227) for mongolian traditional writing?
In August (08.08.08), we will organize mongolian Openoffice celebration
event in Ulaanbaatar, to make OpenOffice popular.

Best regards,
Badral
