+1, but I have to admit that I don't have the time for testing this
branch.

I don't think we should retire it officially, not until we
gained the credibility that we manage to do regular releases
of the 1.4 branch.

+1 for an RC.

I'll send another status update, then the devs can decide if
it is the time to do an RC now.
