At godaddy.com open source projects can get a one-year SSL certificate for
free:

https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/ssl/ssl_opensource.asp?se=%2B

Should we use this offer?

What will happen after this year?

I would prefer to use an official one.

Yes, me too.

I have seen that infrastructurer did not yet answered regarding this
issue, but e.g. all our svn server will have a certificate. We should us
this instead.

I have already sent another mail, asking explicitely about SSL.

If not we can create our own.

Yes, though it would be nice to have a certificate chain up to a CA.
