>- see footer for list info -< Damian, I couldn't agree more, very often it's the lunatics running the asylum! Many of the Content Managements systems I have come across are written by programmers seemingly for programmers. There needs to be much more focus on usability and interaction design and less focus on the bells and whistles.
This is one of the advantages of MM contribute, although its very limited (and I wouldn't use it for an enterprise system), because of the simple interface even my mum can use it to edit her website! :) Kola -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Damian Watson Sent: 19 November 2004 08:47 To: Coldfusion Development Subject: Re: [CF-Dev] Starting Farcry >- see footer for list info -< CFUG suggestion... someone to talk about CMS design methods. Reasons for suggestion: * too many CMS I've seen are perplexing for the user (Paul I take your point but disagree, CMS should be for non-technical users, techie stuff can be added for special authorised tech heads) * most of us I bet have had to debug/ rebuild someone else's CMS and lost a lot of hair One of the biggest failures I see is not necessarily in the code but in the UI- when it comes to admin sites they throw the designer overboard. A talk for programmers about CMS interface design + CMS architecture design would be really useful I think (Niklas?). d Mark Woods wrote: >> - see footer for list info -< > > >> Btw... there aren't many CM systems like this that are open source, and >> this good.
