Hi Jenny,

I would look at what the drivers are behind people registering multiple
times, what is the benefit to them? Am I right in saying this is the chicks
and chaps site you are referring to?

Knowing why people register multiple times might lead to a better solution
which might not be a technical fix but maybe a navigation or sign up
information fix.

Regards,

Lee

Jenny, you don't want people making multiple accounts from the same machine,
but this isn't going to stop people using different machines to sign up more
than once. Could you use email address as a unique identifier to prevent
multiple signups? Or are people using different email addresses to get
around this already?

Thanks Snake, good stuff, but "However, the jsessionid is always created as
a non-persistent cookie." So it's not going to stop someone coming back and
creating a second registration.

Currently, to keep a user barred I'm using the CFID/CFtoken pair, but this
doesn't seem to be viable.
