Russ try this

Add any global styles directly to the cfform tab via its style attribute.
<cfform style="..."

And any specific style directly to the form element
<cfinput name='email' style="fontSize:14">

If you still have problems, use the flex explore to create the style you
want for the form
http://weblogs.macromedia.com/mc/archives/FlexStyleExplorer.html

Flash forms are based on flex technology. Which means that any style you
can set on the flex explorer you can apply to your flash form/elements.

Not surprised there,

XML forms do give you complete control, but it still uses the layout manager
just like flash forms. But, you can get indirect control of the layout
manager by creating your own skin (a combo of XSL/CSS).

So you'd need to build the formatting into your skin, putting it directly
onto the page will throw the layout manager into a fit.

Not worth it for 1 or 2 forms, but if you have an app with bundles of forms
it's the dogs bo**ocks. Create a custom skin for your app and you'll never
have to format another form again.

Even better, XML forms just totally stops the processing of the page and
leaves an incomplete HTML page.

Great this.

It'll be a conflict with the layout manager no doubt.

As far as I know when you use flash forms, you need to leave the layout of
the form up to the layout manager. Its part of the whole "separate
functionality from layout" concept they are going for nowadays.

Could always go for the XML form option, less pretty but you get complete
control over layout if you need it.

FFS.

I have two div's that surround my page and apply formatting and styles. For
some reason these stop flash forms from working.
If I remove them all works fine.
How useless is that.

Its a flash thing - You need to set the width on the form rather than use
the default.
