Frankly I think it's a bizzare way to set up radio buttons but it does work 
in the 'secure members area'. I just tried a radio group and it works fine. 
I don't think it's woth trying to figure out what the person wanted to do...

the query is still a problem though:
Lang_rates is the name of the table (for translations) with the following 
fields:  ID, S_Lang (Source Language), T_Lang (Target Language), euro_cost 
(price for language combination)

I simply need to query this table to get a list of 1) source languages and 
2) target languages

don't think I mentioned but the DB is Access2000
