If you get no errors but the query doesn't work, that rather implies your
just not returning any data in the query.

The only thing that stop those query's working is if the application
variables used for DSN/username/password don't exist outside the admin.
do u mean in the application.cfm?
In the application.cfm I do have
<cfset application.DS = "araxi">
<cfset application.dbuser = ""> (no user & no password)
<cfset application.DBpass = ""> I don't see anything really
different in the admin application.cfm
