I am not sure there is a limit, but it is good practice to try and shorten
them down to the bare minimum. The Web Server may be the problem in that
IIS can be set to not allow URL's with more than a certain length/byte size.

Some email clients will simply cut off long hyperlinks as well.

Does any know the maximum link length (including url variables) that IE can
handle?

I've got a system which allows users to enter hyperlinks and its currently
capped at 300 characters, but someone here has links they need to enter
which are around 400 characters long, which i'm going to have to
accommodate.

I'm quite surprised a link that long works to be honest, so does anyone know
off the top of their heads how long links have to be before IE stops reading
them?

Thanks
Mark
