You guys were right Dmax doesn't seem to work though the Max function works fine (thanks for the code fix Mike)

well i cannot see the problem but I would advise writing the SQL this way

SELECT max(tblDailyRates.CurrencyRateDate) AS aaa
FROM tblDailyRates

Its cleaner and more standard (will work on any database) .... well at least
I hope it will :-)
