Depends on the amount of information that each record contains.

In the past, I've found that really huge XML recordsets are difficult to
wield and can be overkill if you're dealing with known datatypes and
schemas.

I don't see why you couldn't export the 9000 to a CSV, then FTP them from
the Bluedragon server to an FTP account on your SQL Server box and then DTS
it into SQL server.

Afternoon All,

Just looking for some advice really.

I have a Fox Pro database which resides at 1 location, this location has
permanent internet access, I need to (on a daily basis) capture some
information from the Fox Pro Database and send this information to a remote
location (web site) for capture into a SQL database.

Due to the security of the location where the Fox Pro system is, I need to
have a system inside the location so that the information is sent out rather
than pulled from outside.

Need to try and keep the costs down, thinking Blue Dragon 6.2.1 Server
(Free) could sit on a machine inside the location and pick information from
the DB and then send it using something like CFHTTP over to my waiting CF
Server so that it can receive the data and put it into the SQL DB. I know
the Development version of CF can do what I want to do but licensing issues
prevent me from doing it this way, but at least in principle it works.

Would CFHTTP be the best way to send the information out, there could be
about 9000 records to send over on a daily basis, limited information in
each record but would converting it to XML and posting by CFHTTP be the
best???????

Would welcome any comments on the proposed plan and any guidance you
guys/gals have.

Lee Fortnam
